NAUTICAL FINISHES
For his Nantucket house's master bathroom, designer Gary McBournie chose Waterworks hardware at unlacquered brass, so that it would tarnish and age. His goal was to tie back all the details into the feeling of the house.
AGATE WALLS
A New England home's powder area retained its vintage corner sink however got a new look with Robert Crowder & Co. marbleized wallpaper and a vintage Egon Hillebrand mirror. The original wainscoting was repainted in Farrow & Ball's Plummet.
MOROCCAN MOTIF

NATURAL WOOD SHIPLAP
At a Charleston guest home, the master bath's sinks are by Kohler, the unlacquered brass fittings are by Watermark Designs and the shower is wrapped in Alabama white marble. The sconces are 1930s Italian. The walls have been lined in cypress shiplap using a finish.
SUSPENDED MIRROR
In an Atlanta family home, the downstairs bathroom includes a pragmatic Oak Hill DXV console spout, which designer Matthew Quinn notes is both elegant and durable. The shower and bathroom are hidden behind drapes in Cabana Cloth from Thibaut's Portico set of Sunbrella fabrics. Solitude is allowed for by suspending a mirror in front of the window.
STRIATED
Make up to get a nonexistent linen cupboard with tactical storage. A mirrored medicine cabinet in a New York apartment steps 2 feet deep to match towels. The shelves within are staggered around the plumbing, and a custom vanity conceals bins for laundry and dry cleaning.
